What you can do  

If you are feeling gloomy after your baby is born, get things off your chest to somebody who you know will listen.  If the feelings don’t subside then visit your doctor.  He may decide you could do with some anti-depressants to help you get through this difficult time.  You could also have a chat to your health visitor.  These women are very experienced and are there to help.

Having a baby should be an amazing and happy time and for most parents it can be pretty much plain sailing but for any women who might suffer post-natal depression whether it be mild or extreme there is help there for you.
