My Heart    Return to Wythenshawe Magazine

Ever since I was a baby I have had a heart complaint called Tetralogy of Fallot which means that the blood flow into my lungs was lower than normal because of a blockage. This means that I was a “blue baby”. It also meant that I had to have a little operation to check on my heart and lungs.  Due to the effect of the condition I am not able to walk very far, run very fast and I get cold very easily.

I was in hospital for 5 months I was born in June and I went home in November.

The heart doctor said that when I lose weight I will have to have a heart and lung transplant.

In the meantime I have to have a pacemaker fitted which should happen in a few weeks.

Here is a picture of me from when I was a baby
