I came to New Start because I needed something to write on a C.V.  I needed qualifications to get a job after years at home taking care of the kids.

It wasn’t always easy, but I made a special effort to attend regularly despite various dramas and crises at home, and I have now gained my Numeracy Stage 1 & 2 City & Guilds Certificates.  I also recently passed my Health and Safety exam so I am well on my way to achieving my goals. 

I’ve met some really nice people on this course and hooked up with a couple of my old tutors from an earlier foray into less formal college education.

At the end of this course I will have a better idea of my academic capabilities, and I’ll be deciding whether to attempt GCSEs in September.
