Introduction |

I
have chosen this subject for my project as I have had personal experience
with domestic violence and I went through years of abuse thinking I was
the only person it was happening to.
Since I found out that there were other people going through the
same or similar things I feel it is really important that people are aware
that they are not on their own and that there is help available for them. As
a result of my experiences I am hoping to become involved with the
Women’s Aid charity, which is an organization, aimed at helping and
supporting women and children suffering domestic violence. In
the future I hope to share my experiences with others and try and help
them in the same way I have been helped by all the people in the Women’s
Aid Refuge I stayed in. If I
didn’t have their help I wouldn’t be here today and hopefully one day
I will do the same for others.
