This
is an autobiography about the life of a child whose life was torture at
the hands of a woman who was supposed to be his mother. The
author is now a man who has survived the trials of this terrible
childhood. It has made him
a stronger, loving person with lots of love for children. I
was intrigued as to how anyone could do such things to another human
being. Some
of the book was written in something of a child-like manner because he
is telling what it was like to be him. The
words are well-chosen and the book has been well structured. As
for the storyline - it is gripping and at the same time upsetting.
It will have you in tears if you have a heart. All
I wanted to do whilst reading this book was to give the mother some of
her own medicine. The
boy’s father wasn’t much better to stand by and let all this happen. The
waiting and hoping that the child will get to safety will keep you on
the edge of your seat. If
you have an uneasy disposition be prepared to be very upset. This book is not suitable for under 18’s. There
are two more books to follow ‘The Lost Boy’ and ‘A Man Called
Dave’ also by Dave Pelzer. |
