What do I need to know?

  What does ECDLcover?

ECDL covers the knowledge and skills required to use computers for common tasks.

From 2003, there are two options for studying ECDL.

You can study for ECDL using modules 1 to 7. This gives you a full ECDL certificate.

or

You can split the qualification into two parts. You start by studying for the BCS Level 1 Certificate for IT Users (ECDL part 1). This has three modules - modules 1, 2 and 7. You can then go on to study for the BCS Level 2 Certificate for IT Users (ECDL part 2).  This has the remaining four modules of ECDL (modules, 3, 4,5 and 6) and a new module (unit E). This route gives you a full ECDL certificate and the two BCS IT Users certificates as well.
