A number of web sites offer free email to people with Internet access.

One site is http://www.hotmail.com. Another is http://www.talk21.com/

To get your own email address go to http://www.hotmail.com and follow the instructions on the screen. You may find the notes below useful:

  • Sign up
  • Click - I accept to rules & regulations
  • Change Country to UK
  • State Province is Manchester, plus your post code
  • Choose an original login name - you may have to try different login names
  • Choose an original password
  • Occupation is Student
  • Click - I accept to continue at Hotmail

Once you have acquired an email address send a short message to your tutor. Make a printout of this email and any reply sent back. Keep these to show to your tutor for your assessment.
