Learning Resource Centre Mission Statement and Respectable Use Policy
The Learning Resource Centres at The Manchester College have a mission statement designed to govern their activities and explain what their objectives are. The mission statement says:
"The College Learning Resource Centres will provide a high quality service in support of teaching and learning. This includes a comprehensive information and library service, study facilities and access to computers, together with support and guidance in the use of resources and equipment.
Learning Resource Centres will maximise the use of web technology to make resources available inside and outside the College."
To help them to comply with this mission statement the Learning Resource Centres have a small number of rules. All students are expected to follow the Code of Behaviour which is part of their contract with the College.
Users of the Learning Resource Centres are also requested to:
- Treat all other users and staff with respect
- Be responsible for things they borrow and return them on time
- Pay the replacement cost of lost or damaged resources
- Keep noise to a minimum
- Switch off their mobile telephones
- Refrain from taking food and drink into the Centres
In return you will find Learning Resource Centre staff eager to help you to complete your studies successfully and achieve your ambitions!
