John Rylands University Library

The John Rylands University Library houses over 4 million printed items and the largest collection of electronic resources in the United Kingdom.

The library is available to The Manchester College students on the following courses: Access courses, AS A Level courses, B.A. Acting Studies, B.A. Music and Theatre Studies, B.A. Performance Design Management and students on the Post-Graduate Writing for Performance course. Students on these courses may use the library after 4.00pm during term term and at any time during the University vacations. There is no access during May as this is the University examination period.

Before using John Rylands library you will need to see your Learning Centre Co-Ordinator and obtain a letter of authorisation from them. You will then have to produce this letter each time you visit the library.

Manchester Public Libraries

All students of The Manchester College are entitled to use Manchester's public libraries even if they do not live within Greater Manchester.

They will need to provide proof of their status; student identity cards are usually enough but Learning Centre Co-Ordinators can also supply letters of authorisation if necessary.
