Children, Youth and Families Education and Research network. A huge internet resource with lots of practical information and ideas.

Department for Education and Skills

A very large and reliable Government website with huge amounts of information about childcare issues. Some of the many subjects covered are: adoption, child protection, statistics, family law, teenage pregnancy. A really useful feature of the site are the abstracts from, and details of recent Government publications associated with childcare.

Every Child Matters

The official website of the Department for Children, Schools and Families Every Child Matters programme. Also provides information on the Sure Start programme.

National Curriculum

This site links every National Curriculum programme of study requirement to high-quality, relevant teaching resources. Hundreds of great websites are included, and rated on their usefulness by teachers themselves.

National Health Service

The NHS Gateway with facilities to search thousands of pages of health-related information. Includes a useful health encyclopedia, a self-help guide and an excellent “best treatments page.”

Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB)

Provides information and advice on all types of blindness and eye conditions

Royal National Institute for the Deaf (RNID)

This site offers various information resources about all types of deafness and hearing difficulties.
